Carrier surcharges basics

In addition to the standard shipping fees set out in the applicable pricing schedule, carriers may apply additional surcharges depending on, among other things, the carrier selected, the dimensions and weight of the shipment, the destination, and the period of the year. Carrier Surcharges are separate from and in addition to the Shipping Fees.

Carrier Surcharges include, without limitation:

(a) Fuel surcharges, applied in accordance with fluctuations in fuel prices;

(b) Peak surcharges, applied during periods of high demand, including public holidays and seasonal peaks;

(c) Oversize and overweight surcharges, applied to shipments exceeding the carrier’s standard dimension or weight limits;

(d) Remote area and island surcharges, applied to deliveries to remote locations or islands; and

(e) Customs surcharges, applied by carriers for the handling and clearance of shipments through customs.

Each Carrier Surcharge is subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant carrier, as described in the corresponding articles published on Bigblue’s Help Center, as updated from time to time.

The list set out in this article provided for information purposes only and is not exhaustive. Bigblue reserves the right to invoice the Client for any and all surcharges applied by carriers in connection with the Client’s shipments, whether or not listed above.
