Offer pickup point delivery

Want to offer pickup point delivery options to your customers? Simply follow the steps below!

☝️This solution is available for Prestashop, Shopify & WooCommerce.

🚨Our latest release from the beginning of April 2022 allows you to display an interactive map to your customer during checkout. Your customers will now be able to choose the closest pickup point to their shipping address. We advise you to reinstall the Pickup Point module to fully enjoy this new feature 😊

In this article:

  1. Add a pickup point shipping method on your shop
  2. Map this new shipping method with appropriate carriers
  3. Activate in Prestashop/WooCommerce
  4. Activate in Shopify
  5. How will the pickup point selection will look like ?

1. Add a pickup point shipping method to your shop

  • In Prestashop/Shopify/WooCommerce, create a shipping method for pickup point deliveries
  • Activate the method so that it appears at the checkout in your shop

2. Map this new shipping method with the appropriate carriers

  • Access your Logistics settings by hovering over your initials at the bottom left corner
  • Select Automated fulfillment

  • Access the Shipping Method dropdown menu by clicking on the arrow
  • Select the pickup point shipping method you have created in your shop (in this example, Mondial Relay)

    💡The shipping methods of your shop are automatically synced with the app!

  • Assign appropriate carriers to the regions they serve
    💡You need to select carriers that offer pickup point delivery services. Currently, we offer  Mondial Relay for France, Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium - and since February 2022, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria.

3. Activate in Prestashop/WooCommerce

a. Upload the Bigblue module to your shop

Follow the steps explained below:

  • For Prestashop:
    • Download the module here
    • Go to: Modules > Modules > Add a new module

    • Click on Choose a file and select the .zip file you downloaded previously
    • Click on Upload this module

    • Scroll down to see the Modules List and look for the module you uploaded
    • Click on Install

    • If you see this popup, click on Proceed with the installation

    • Once you complete the installation, you will see this message and you'll be all set!

  • For WooCommerce:
    • Download the module here
    • Go to: WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New

    • Select Upload Plugin
    • Click on Choose File and select the .zip file you downloaded previously

    • Click on Install Now
    • Select Activate Plugin and you are all set!

b. Activate the pickup point module in Bigblue

  • Go to the Shop Integrations tab
  • Click on your shop settings icon ⚙️
  • Enable the option Activate pickup point module (the toggle has to be blue)

c. Deactivate any other pickup point module

Other pickup point modules may conflict with the Bigblue selection solution. You should ensure that they are uninstalled from your shop.

4. Activate in Shopify

a. Make sure your Shopify permissions are updated

  • Go to the Shop Integrations tab
  • Click on your shop settings icon ⚙️
  • If the Permission update required banner appears, click on Connect
  • Once redirected to your Shopify store, click on Update app

b. Check that your auto-fulfill delay is at least 30 minutes

⚠️ In Shopify, the pickup point selection page pops up after payment and the customer has up to 30 minutes to choose it.

  • If your auto-fulfill delay is less than 30 minutes, the pickup point selection will be transmitted after this time has expired, leaving less time for your customer.
  • We strongly recommend you to have an auto-fulfill delay of 30 minutes.
  • Set the Auto-fulfill delay at 30 minutes or more here

c. Deactivate any other pickup point application on Shopify

Other pickup point applications may conflict with the Bigblue selection solution. You should ensure that they are uninstalled from your shop.

5. How will the pickup point selection look like?

  • At the checkout on PrestaShop and WooCommerce and after the checkout for Shopify, your customer can choose the pickup point shipping option
  • The map will appear and your customer will be able to edit the location with the address of his choice
  • The pickup points are listed in order of proximity to the address entered by your customer
  • This map allows your customer to navigate between the closest pickup points. We display: the exact distance from the address and valuable information such as the opening hours
