๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Temporary restriction on food & cosmetics shipments to the US with UPS

Date of communication: October, 2nd 2025

Hello,

We would like to inform you of a recent development affecting shipments to the United States.

Over the past few days, we have received notifications from UPS regarding returned or destroyed parcels containing food and cosmetics products. These actions were taken without prior notice or instructions.

After direct communication with UPS France, here is the latest information available:

  • FDA restrictions: The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has apparently recently decided to reject most food and cosmetics items shipped from abroad.
  • UPS advisory: UPS has advised that, until further notice, all food and cosmetics shipments to the USA should be suspended, as these parcels risk being returned or destroyed without warning.
  • Timeline for resolution: UPS is working on a technical solution to avoid such blockages, expected to be deployed within 1โ€“2 weeks. Details of this solution have not yet been disclosed.
  • Important note on item descriptions: Even non-food/cosmetic items may be flagged if their description contains related terms (e.g., โ€œcaramelโ€ used as a color). These would also be subject to FDA controls.

Our Recommendation:

For the time being, if you are shipping with UPS* from France & the UK, we suggest you if possible to refrain from sending any food or cosmetics products to the USA until UPS confirms the new solution is in place. We will share further updates as soon as more information is available.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and are closely monitoring the situation with UPS to minimize disruptions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

*Given that postal carriers have discontinued their services, no other carrier is available. From Spain, we suggest you to use FedEx.

Best regards,

The Bigblue Team
