B2B | Use the B2B address book
The customer address book is a feature that allows you to save B2B customer information and re-use it later without re-inputting all the details.
Prerequisites:
- You must be on an Advanced plan or higher. Read our plan details to learn more and reach out to us for more information.
- Saving customers is only available for manual B2B orders.
How to create a customer?
Click the search bar and click Create a new customer
A new form is then opened:
A few important elements:
- Only one of the three fields Company, First Name, Last Name is mandatory. So if one doesn’t apply because you don’t know the individual behind the company, you don’t need to write three times the same thing!
- Email is mandatory but not the phone number so no need to put one neither if you don’t have any.
- The customer is saved only when you click Create at the end of the form.
What is the customer alias?
It is an optional field made to simplify and fasten search for future orders. It will not be used at all to ship the order, it is only for your internal purpose. In such a case it replaces the company name in the search.
How to edit a customer?
You can edit a customer by clicking the Edit button at the top right corner and then Edit customer. All changes you make will be saved on the customer.
How to switch customers?
If you mistakenly selected a customer and need to change it, click Remove customer and then search or create your new customer.
How to delete a customer?
It is currently not possible to delete a customer. However if there’s a customer you really do not want to figure in the list, you can edit it and replace it by a new customer.
Using instructions templates with a customer
If you create a customer and use an instruction template (see Article instructions), the template will be bound to the customer and be automatically selected the next time you select the customer.
If you switch the template, the customer is updated to reflect this change on future orders.
Q&A
Is the customer saved if I edit after the order has been created?
If you edit the customer from the order details page, only the specific order’s customer information are edited and saved. That’s to say your update won’t be saved for the next manual order you create.
Can I use the address book for non manual orders?
No this is not possible for the moment.
