Bigblue receiving policy
Our goal is to ensure the fastest and most efficient stocking of your products possible.
To optimize reception, it is necessary to comply with the following delivery and packaging conditions.
Packaging of Merchandise
Product Barcodes
Every product shipped to the warehouse must have a visible and legible barcode.
They must meet these criteria:
- Black bars on white background
- High contrast (no tone on tone, or very light colors)
- Applied on a flat surface
- Minimum dimensions: 13mmx6mm
Barcodes must be in EAN-13, EAN-8, or UPC formats.
Parcel Packaging
For your delivery to be accepted and stocked promptly, parcels must adhere to these criteria:
- They must not weigh more than 20 kg to safeguard the warehouse employees' health.
- Dimensions should not exceed L60xW40xH40cm.
- Dimensions should not be smaller than 23x19x12 cm.
Homogeneous and Heterogeneous parcel conditioning
When sending your products, you can arrange delivery either homogeneously (one SKU per parcel) or heterogeneously (multiple SKUs per parcel).
Homogeneous receipts are free of charge, whereas heterogeneous receipts incur additional costs.
Homogeneous Receipt
- To be considered homogeneous, the delivery must meet the following criteria:
- Each parcel in the delivery contains only one SKU.
- The SKU must be indicated on each parcel.
- The quantity of the product must be specified on each parcel.
- The parcel can be stored as it is, with no units manipulations.
💡 If a parcel contains several homogeneous parcels, the delivery will be treated as homogeneous, and no fees will be charged.
We apply a principle of trust reception for homogeneous deliveries. This means that we consider the quantity of products indicated on each carton to be identical to that displayed on the parcel.
It's important to differentiate between products sold individually and those sold in complete cartons (also known as PCB).
- If a parcel contains units sold individually, do not display a barcode on the parcel.
- If it's a PCB (a carton containing multiple units intended to be sold in a lot, for example), it must have its own SKU with its barcode affixed to the parcel.
💡 The barcode must be different that the one used for the products inside the parcel
Heterogeneous Receipt
A receipt is considered heterogeneous if the parcel consists of multiple units with different SKUs. These are chargeable as they require additional processing time and labor in our warehouses. Pricing depends on the warehouse and is specified in your contract.
Despite being heterogeneous, this type of delivery must also adhere to certain criteria:
- Affix a packing list outside the parcel.
- Each set of SKUs must be grouped and divided using separators within the parcel.
💡 If a parcel contains several homogeneous parcels, the delivery will be treated as homogeneous, and no fees will be charged.
Non-compliance with delivery criteria
A delivery that does not meet the criteria outlined in this article (bulk products, absence of parcel information, erroneous packing list) requires our teams to spend additional processing time.
The processing of these deliveries will be charged according to the "special operations" rate specified in your contract.
Palletizing
- Each pallet must weigh a maximum of
750 kg
and have a maximum height of180 cm
. - Pallets must comply with European standards (EUR-pallet)
80 x 120 cm
in our french warehouse and/or UK standards120 x 100 cm
for our UK warehouse. Any pallet not complying with this format will need to be reconditioned by our operators at the cost of a special operation.
Delivery of the Inbound Shipments
Regardless of how you send us your products, it's essential to adhere to some critical criteria:
- Every product reception must be accompanied by a delivery note for our operators to identify your products.
- To ensure a smooth reception of your products, it is imperative that a delivery note be conspicuously affixed to the outside of the parcel. Our operators rely on this document to efficiently identify and process incoming products, facilitating a seamless and accurate product reception.
- If you ship from a country outside the European Customs Union, you must use the incoterm DDP (meaning taxes and customs duties must be paid in advance). Shipments with an incoterm different from DDP will be refused by the warehouse.
💡 To obtain the delivery note to affix to your shipments, simply create an Inbound shipment .
A. Parcel Shipping
- The inbound shipment must be created in the Bigblue app at least 24 hours before the parcels' arrival.
- We strongly recommend using DPD, UPS, FedEx, or DHL for parcel shipments.
- If you ship more than 20 parcels, they must be loaded onto pallets. Otherwise, unloading will be charged as a special operation.
💡 Shipments via Colissimo, Mondial Relay, or Chronopost are "mixed" with returns by carriers, which can lengthen the processing time.*Any partial delivery of a batch of multiple parcels will be refused by the warehouse.
B. Pallet Shipping
- The inbound shipment must be created in the Bigblue app 48 hours before the warehouse delivery. A confirmation will be sent for the requested date and time.
- Time slots are limited: we recommend contacting the warehouse as early as possible.
- Pallets must be wrapped with transparent films; opaque films are not allowed.
- Unloading is done using forklift trucks directly onto the platform.
- It's imperative to make an appointment at least 48 hours in advance by filling out the form available from the warehouse page in the settings menu of your application. It's also from this menu that you'll find your warehouse's address.
💡 In the absence of an appointment, the warehouse will systematically refuse unloading.*Late deliveries (> 30 minutes after the appointment time) may be refused. However, our warehouses always do their best to accommodate late deliveries.
C. Container Shipping
- Cartons must be loaded onto pallets.
- Inbound shipments must be created in the Bigblue app at least 5 days before warehouse delivery.
- Unloading is done using forklift trucks directly onto the platform. Therefore, trucks must be suitable.
- Pallets must be wrapped with transparent films; opaque films are not allowed.
