1. How to package my products for Bigblue?

A. Product barcodes

  • Each product shipped to the warehouse should have a visible and readable barcode.
  • Barcodes must be in EAN-13, EAN-8, or UPC format.

❌ Non-conforming products will be returned to you or barcoded by the warehouse. ⚠️ In the second case, you will be charged an additional fee based on the time spent (35€/hour).

B. Box packing rules

  • Boxes shipped to the warehouse should
    • weigh no more than 20kg to protect the health of the warehouse employees'
    • measure no more than 60x40x40cm (meaning length should not exceed 60cm AND width should not exceed 40cm AND height should not exceed 40cm)
  • Reception of single-SKU boxes is free
    • Single-SKU boxes
      • should be clearly labeled with the SKU and the quantity
      • ⚠️ If the marking is missing, additional charges will apply (special operation pricing).

      • should either have no barcode or a barcode that is different than the unit product barcode

        • 💡 Why?

All actions in the warehouse require a barcode to be read. A single-SKU box should never have the same barcode as the unit product it contains, otherwise we would not be able to differentiate them from each other (this is a very risky situation). If a single-SKU box arriving at the warehouse has the same barcode as the unit product it contains, the warehouse will need to break down all single-SKU boxes and additional charges will apply (€35/hour)⚠️
    • Our receiving process is referred to as good faith receiving. This means that our modus operandi is to assume that the quantity of products listed on each of the cartons is identical to the quantity present in the shipment.
  • Dealing with multi-SKU boxes
    • Upon reception by the warehouse, multi-SKU boxes must be opened and their content has to be broken down into each SKU, which requires additional time and thus incurs extra fees ⚠️ Reception of multi-SKU boxes is charged at the rate indicated in your agreement (Appendix 1, section 3. "Additional fees")
    • For a free reception, you can utilize inner cartons to separate different SKUs in a single larger carton ⚠️  Inventory that arrives in bags, in any other packaging besides boxes or in boxes smaller than 23x19x12 cm will be billed for packaging and the time spent repacking (35€/hour).
    • If you ship multi-SKU boxes:
      • a packing list must be placed on the outside of the box
      • you must segregate SKUs within the box using dividers (see below)

B. Pallet requirements

  • Pallets shipped to the warehouse should weigh no more than 750 kg and should not be taller than 180 cm
  • Pallets must comply with
    • in the EU: European standards (EUR-pallet - 80 x 120 cm)
    • in the UK: European standards (EUR-pallet - 80 x 120 cm) or UK standards (UK-pallet - 100 x 120 cm)

⚠️ For any other pallet size, an additional 50€/pallet will apply.

  • All boxes on the pallets should comply with section 1A.

2. How to deliver my goods to Bigblue?

You can choose to ship A. boxes, B. pallets, or C. containers:

In all cases:

  • The delivery note (generated in the Bigblue app) must be placed on each box/pallet and be visible so the warehouse can quickly identify and process the shipment.
  • If you are shipping from a country located outside the European Customs Union, you have to use the DDP Incoterm (i.e. taxes and customs duties should be paid ahead).

❌ Shipments with an incoterm other than DDP will be rejected by the warehouse.

A. Shipping boxes

  • Inbound shipments must be created in the Bigblue app 24 hours before the delivery at the warehouse.
  • We strongly recommend you ship your box with DPD, UPS, FedEx, or DHL.
  • If you are shipping more than 20 boxes, these should be loaded on pallets (please refer to section 2B for the reception conditions that will apply in this case).

Colissimo, Mondial Relay & Chronopost are processing inbound shipments like returns which results in longer transit times. We do not commit to any reception time if you choose to ship with these carriers.

❌ Any partial delivery of a multi-parcel inbound shipment will be refused by the warehouse (this is to protect you against any parcel loss)

B. Shipping pallets

  • Inbound shipments must be created in the Bigblue app 48 hours before the delivery at the warehouse. A confirmation will be sent to you for the requested date and time.
    • Please note that appointment slots are limited: we recommend to make your appointments as early as possible
  • Pallets must be filmed with transparent films; opaque films are not allowed.
  • Unloading is done using forklifts at a dock. Trucks should comply with this requirement. Loading floor height must be 1m minimum / Height of the box or container must be 2.2m minimum / Width of the back opening must be 2.2m minimum
  • You/your carrier should make an appointment at least 48 hours in advance by filling out the Make a warehouse appointment form, which is available in the Warehouse settings of the app (Logistics Settings > Warehouse).
    • Delivery times, as well as the warehouse address, are also available in the Warehouse settings.
    • You must provide a copy of the delivery note to your carrier. It'll be requested at delivery.

Without an appointment, the warehouse will systematically refuse deliveries.

Late deliveries (> 30 min after the appointment time) may be refused. However, our warehouses always do their best to accommodate late deliveries.

C. Shipping containers

⚠️ Floor-loaded containers unloading incurs an additional 35€/hour spent.

3. Uncompliant Inbound Shipments

⚠️  A flat-rate penalty of 50€ will be applied for the processing of any of the following inbound shipment irregularities:

  • Products have no barcodes or non-compliant barcodes
  • Products arrive at the warehouse before any Inbound Shipment has been created in the app
  • There is no Delivery Note on the shipment
  • The barcodes on the products are different from those indicated in the Bigblue application
  • Some of the products received were not declared in the Inbound Shipment (surplus)
